These Recycled Cotton Slub Tees are naturally hand-dyed on Amami Oshima, a Japanese island chain that carries a centuries-old fabric dyeing tradition. The dye is made from the Sharinbai tree, which is native to Amami and has long been incorporated in the region's dyeing traditions, producing a warm, rosy tone that pairs excellently with the textured material, granting the fabric plenty of depth. This version is then further overdyed through Amami Oshima's traditional Dorozome mud-dyeing techique, a practice that has been passed down for generations. The fabric is immersed in iron-rich mudpits after the initial dyeing process, soaking the fibers with minerals and deepening the colour noticeably.
The Crewneck T-Shirt has a modern athletic fit with binder neck ribbed collar, union special flat side seam construction and is made in Japan.
